About the role

Remora is seeking an Operations Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our deployed carbon capture systems. This is a hands-on role responsible for ensuring our systems operate safely, reliably, and efficiently while building the processes, procedures, and operating discipline needed to support a rapidly growing fleet. You’ll work closely with Engineering, Commissioning, Field Service, and Supply Chain to resolve issues, improve system performance, and turn early deployments into a scalable operating model. We’re building modular carbon capture systems, turning exhaust into beverage-grade CO₂ sold to breweries and greenhouses. We deploy in regions facing severe CO₂ shortages, where prices are highest, allowing us to generate high margins without relying on tax credits or carbon credits. We’ve raised over $115 million in funding from top investors including Lowercarbon Capital, Union Square Ventures, First Round Capital, Y Combinator, and Valor Equity Partners. Responsibilities Own the day-to-day operation and performance of deployed carbon capture systems, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient operation. Develop and implement standard operating procedures, maintenance programs, operating standards, and escalation processes for field operations. Monitor fleet performance, system uptime, reliability, maintenance needs, and key operational KPIs. Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance activities with Field Service, Engineering, vendors, and contractors. Lead troubleshooting and root-cause resolution of operational issues, ensuring problems are documented, communicated, and permanently addressed. Partner with Commissioning and Engineering to transition newly deployed systems from startup and commissioning into steady-state operations. Build operational processes that can scale from the first commercial systems to a multi-site fleet. Manage spare parts, consumables, service requirements, and other resources necessary to maintain system availability. Establish preventative and predictive maintenance strategies that improve reliability and reduce unplanned downtime. Support the hiring, training, and development of operators, technicians, and other field operations personnel as the fleet grows. Maintain strong safety standards and ensure field operations comply with company procedures and applicable regulatory requirements. Partner cross-functionally with Engineering to provide structured feedback from the field and drive improvements in system design, reliability, maintainability, and serviceability. Manage relationships with site partners, contractors, service providers, and other external stakeholders supporting operations. Requirements 7+ years of experience in operations, field operations, manufacturing, industrial equipment, energy, chemical processing, power generation, or related environment. Experience operating or supporting complex industrial equipment or process systems in the field. Demonstrated experience building and improving operational processes, SOPs, maintenance programs, and performance metrics. Experience managing technicians, contractors, or other frontline teams. Strong understanding of equipment reliability, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis. Experience working closely with engineering and technical teams to resolve equipment and operational issues. <li data-leveltext="" data-font="Symbol" data
