Who is responsible

Dependify LLC (Coral Gardens, Lugbe, FCT, Nigeria) is the data controller for the information described here. Contact: hi@jobforgeos.com.

What we collect

• Account data — your email address, your name, and a hashed password. Passwords are stored only as a scrypt hash; we cannot read them.
• Trial sessions — if you start a trial without signing up, we create an anonymous account so your work persists. It holds no contact details until you choose to sign up.
• CVs and cover letters — the documents you upload or generate, including everything inside them: employment history, education, contact details, and anything else you have written there.
• Applications you track — the roles you save, their status, and your notes.
• Usage records — which features you used and when, so we can enforce plan limits and understand what to improve.
• Technical data — IP address and user agent attached to your session, used for security and rate limiting.
• Billing data — a customer and subscription reference from our payment processor. Card numbers never reach our servers.

Why we are allowed to use it

• To provide the service you asked for (performance of a contract): storing your CV, matching it against jobs, generating tailored documents, tracking your applications.
• Legitimate interests: keeping the service secure, preventing abuse, and measuring aggregate usage.
• Legal obligation: keeping billing records.

We do not sell your data, and we do not show you third-party advertising.

Who else processes it

• Our hosting and database provider — stores everything above.
• Our AI provider — the text of a CV and a job description is sent to a large language model when you ask for a match score, a tailored CV, a cover letter, or interview questions. It is sent for that request only and is not used to train models on your data by us.
• Paystack — takes payment. You enter card details on Paystack's own pages; we receive only a reference and the subscription status.
• Our email provider — sends account email such as password resets and trial notices.

Job listings in the directory come from public company career pages and job boards. They are not personal data about you.

How long it is kept

• Account, CVs, and application history: until you delete them or ask us to close your account.
• Deleted CVs and applications: kept in a recoverable state for 30 days so you can undo a mistake, then removed.
• Sessions: 30 days, or until you sign out.
• Billing records: as long as tax law requires.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, object to a particular use, or ask us to move it elsewhere. Write to hi@jobforgeos.com and we will answer within 30 days. If you are in the EU, the UK, or Nigeria and you think we have handled this badly, you can complain to your data protection authority.

Cookies

We set one cookie, and only once you sign in or start a trial: it identifies your session. It is not used for advertising or cross-site tracking, so there is no consent banner to click through.

Security

Traffic is encrypted in transit. Passwords are stored as scrypt hashes. Sessions are stored server-side and can be revoked. Access to the production database is limited to the operator. No system is perfect; if we ever discover a breach affecting your data we will tell you and the relevant authority.

Changes

If this notice changes in a way that affects you, we will say so on this page and, for material changes, by email before it takes effect.
