About the role

MyOme is a clinical whole genome analysis company helping individuals and families understand their risk for disease. As a leader in polygenic and AI-based integrative risk modeling, we combine genome sequencing with AI-driven analytics and clinical data to deliver a lifetime of clinically meaningful, actionable insights, from proactive risk assessment to rare disease diagnosis. Our laboratory is CLIA-certified and CAP-accredited, and we’re based in Menlo Park, California. Our team brings together scientists, engineers, clinicians, and professionals across disciplines, united by a shared purpose: making genomic insight a routine part of everyday healthcare. We put patients first and hold ourselves to the scientific and clinical rigor that families and their clinicians depend on. Joining MyOme means contributing your expertise to work that matters for patients and families. Whether you’re advancing our science and technology, supporting the clinicians and patients we serve, or strengthening our operations, you’ll help turn genomic discoveries into better care. Position Overview: MyOme is seeking a Software Product Manager for our clinical laboratory informatics systems. You'll be the bridge between lab operations, engineering, and compliance, turning real lab workflows into clear requirements, making sure every release meets our regulatory obligations, and helping the people who use our software every day get the most out of it. This role works across our in-house software systems and Sapio, our laboratory information platform. If you love untangling complex workflows, writing documentation people actually read, and seeing your work make a lab run faster and safer, we'd love to meet you. What You'll Do: Requirements and product ownership Partner with lab directors, lab scientists, accessioning, and operations teams to understand workflows, pain points, and priorities. Translate those needs into clear product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria that engineering can build against. Own the roadmap and backlog for internal lab-facing systems, balancing new features, fixes, and operational requests. Map how data and samples move within our internal systems (both off the shelf and custom built), and identify gaps, handoffs, and opportunities to automate. Compliance and quality Ensure regulatory and quality requirements (CLIA, CAP, HIPAA, and applicable state requirements) are built into requirements from the start, not added at the end. Work with Quality, Compliance, and Lab leadership to define validation needs, change control, and release documentation for each software change. Maintain traceability between requirements, testing, and release so the lab is always audit-ready. Training and enablement Develop user-facing training for new and existing software, including written guides, SOP updates, quick-reference sheets, and recorded walkthroughs. Lead training sessions for lab staff during rollouts and track adoption and feedback after launch. Keep user documentation current as systems change, and make it easy for staff to find what they need. Communication Serve as the primary point of contact between lab users and engineering for the systems you own. Communicate release plans, changes, and timelines clearly to technical and non-technical audiences. Run requirement reviews, demos, and post-release check-ins with stakeholders. What You'll Ne ed: 4+ years of product management, business analysis, or a similar role on software products, ideally internal or operational tools. Proven experience gathering requirements from end users and turning them into specs, user stories, and acceptance criteria. Experience working in a regulated environment (healthcare, clinical lab, life sciences, or similar) and building compliance into product decisions. Excellent verbal communication: you can run a meeting with lab scientists in the morning and an engineering sprint review in the afternoon. Excellent written documentation: clear requirements, user guides, SOPs, and release notes. Experience creating and delivering user training for software rollouts. Comfort working with engineering teams using agile tools (e.g., Jira, Linear, Confluence). A detail-oriented, organized approach and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and priorities in a remote team. Preferred / Bonus Qualifications: Hands-on experience with Sapio or another LIMS (e.g., LabWare, STARLIMS, Benchling). Knowledge of genomics, genetic testing, or clinical lab workflows (accessioning, sequencing, reporting). Familiarity with software validation and change control in a CLIA/CAP lab, or with FDA 21 CFR Part 11. Experience with healthcare interoperability standards (HL7, FHIR). Ability to read basic SQL or work with APIs to understand data flows between systems. Experience with instructional design or training tools (e.g., Loom, Scribe, an LMS). Location, Compensation, and Benefits: Location: Onsite 5 days a week at our Menlo Park, CA laboratory campus Compensation: Annual salary range of $125,000 - $185,000, commensurate with experience. This role is eligible for equity. San Francisco Bay Area pay range $125,000 — $185,000 USD Benefits: Comprehensive healthcare coverage (Health, Dental, and Vision) 401K Unlimited PTO Professional development opportunities Company-sponsored off-sites and team meals during in-person meetings Direct access to company leadership and the opportunity for career growth Equal Employment Opportunity and Reasonable Accommodations MyOme is an equal opportunity employer.
