About the role
Do you want to work with high-caliber professionals in a dynamic and growing company? Are you entrepreneurial, hard-working, and collegial? Join us at SB Energy, a leading infrastructure company backed by SoftBank Group and Ares Infrastructure, pairing cutting-edge innovation with best-in-class execution. Our mission is to deliver reliable and secure data center and power infrastructure to strengthen America's future. Founded in 2019, SB Energy is a SoftBank Group company headquartered in Redwood City, California. In 2026, SoftBank Group and OpenAI announced a $1 billion investment to support SB Energy as their leading development and execution partner for data center campuses, while Ares Infrastructure continues its long-standing support of the company's growth. SB Energy develops, builds, owns, and operates some of the largest and most technically advanced energy and data center infrastructure projects in the United States. Since its founding, the company has rapidly grown into a top-tier integrated platform with more than 3 gigawatts (GW) in operation and a multi-GW pipeline of energy and data center infrastructure nationwide. SB Energy also leverages a strong culture of innovation to identify and integrate new technologies into its projects, including its AI-based digital platform, delivering energy infrastructure that is local, reliable, and matched to load. We are building the energy and infrastructure future—today. Come join us in accelerating the energy and infrastructure transition! Basic Function SB Energy is seeking a Manager to build and lead the Integrated Business Planning (IBP) and demand planning capability for owner-furnished, contractor-installed (OFCI) power and cooling equipment. This role sits within a common Procurement Manager profile designed to provide clear ownership while allowing managers to support changing project, equipment portfolio, and shared functional needs as the business evolves. You will own the consolidated equipment demand plan, demand/supply scenarios, and planning recommendations for constrained equipment availability. Working with SB Energy’s clients, OEMs, vendors, and internal project teams, you will align equipment availability with customer milestones while improving total cost of ownership (TCO) and limiting excess capital exposure. You will make independent planning recommendations from day one, incorporating approved product roadmaps, fungibility, and multi-sourcing options. Assignments will include portfolio demand planning across multiple projects, planning leadership across power and cooling equipment packages, sourcing support, supplier readiness, or logistics coordination work. Assignments may change as projects advance, workloads shift, and business priorities evolve. Reassignment will reflect equipment knowledge, planning readiness, workload, and access to appropriate specialist support. The Manager will maintain clear ownership of assigned planning deliverables, cross-train colleagues, and provide structured handoffs and backup coverage to preserve continuity across the broader function. This role requires depth in OFCI equipment planning and strong working knowledge of electrical and mechanical infrastructure, while also requiring flexibility to support adjacent procurement and planning needs. The team will combine complementary electrical, mechanical, commercial, planning, and logistics strengths; candidates are not expected to be specialists in every area. Responsibilities Equipment coverage applies to the categories below when designated OFCI for a project. Power scope begins downstream of the HV substation. Power equipment Distribution: MV/LV switchgear, ring main units, switchboards, panelboards, standalone motor-control centers/ drives, and power, distribution, and isolation transformers. Backup and stored power: generators and integral fuel, starting, and exhaust auxiliaries; paralleling gear; MV/LV UPS; batteries/BESS; chargers and DC power systems. Transfer and final distribution: ATS/STS, busway/busduct, power distribution units, remote power panels, rack PDUs, and power cables and terminations. Packaged power: electrical skids, e-houses, modular power blocks, and packaged substations downstream of the HV substation. Protection and monitoring: relays, metering, electrical power management systems, control panels, power-quality equipment, surge protection, grounding assemblies, and load banks. Cooling equipment Cooling and heat rejection: air- and water-cooled chillers, cooling towers, dry coolers, adiabatic/fluid coolers, and heat exchangers. Airside cooling: CRAH/CRAC units, air-handling units, fan walls, in-row cooling, and rear-door heat exchangers. Liquid cooling: coolant distribution units, direct-to-chip and immersion cooling packages, manifolds, cold plates, hoses, and quick disconnects. <li data-leveltext="" data-font="Symbol"
