Founding Design Engineer

About the Role Join a small, early-stage consumer apps team as a Founding Design Engineer. You will own an app end to end, shaping its design and implementation and helping it improve after launch. What You'll Do Build features from initial sketches through mobile release. Create polished, native-feeling screens and interactions, including motion and haptics. Develop product loops that encourage users to return. Review product data and speak with users to decide what to improve or remove. Stay involved with the product after launch and iterate based on what you learn. What We're Looking For Experience building and shipping consumer mobile apps with real users, ideally with work available to inspect in an app store or similar. Experience owning an app across design, implementation, data, and release. Ability to create visual and interaction designs and implement them in code. Experience with Flutter, Dart, Swift, or Kotlin, and familiarity with Firebase and TypeScript. Experience building products in a startup environment and independently moving work forward without detailed specifications. Ability to use product data and user conversations to guide decisions after launch. Compensation & Benefits Visa sponsorship is available. Location On-site in Palo Alto, California, United States.
