What is the role? Are you an Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) professional interested in working with a diverse group of early-stage biotech companies, researchers, and types of spaces? LabCentral is hiring a n Environmental Health and Safety , S enior Associate to support our laboratories in Cambridge. This role report s directly to the EHS , Associate Director . You will be a strong fit for this role if you have 1-2 years’ relevant experience in the EHS field. We are looking for a self-directed, organized individual who enjoys working with scientists to understand their cutting-edge science and support their safety and compliance needs. What will I do? Responsibilities Your day-to-day is focused on ensuring that the laboratories are operating safely and residents have proper resources to sustain a safe working environment . Every day is different, so flexibility and responsiveness are key while delivering value on projects and other commitments. Be a champion of safety and proactively look for chances to encourage staff and residents to do the same Provide direction to residents and staff to ensure a safe and compliant workplace Support the EH S team in hazard assessments and project registration reviews with a focus on biological safety Participate in , h e l p prepare for , and coordinate LabCentral’s Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC) meetings Aid in managing hazardous waste program Assist with the implementation and further development of EHS programs Act as liaison with EHS contractors and LabCentral staff and residents Coordinate EHS activities and communications for staff and resident companies Support the EHS Associate Direc tor in hazar
