About the role
We are the UK's leading premium publisher, home to iconic and influential media brands including Esquire, Men's & Women's Health, ELLE, Good Housekeeping, Harper's Bazaar, Digital Spy, Cosmopolitan, Red and more. At Hearst UK, we don't just create content – we shape culture. Our workplace is driven by passion, shaped by authenticity and powered by creativity. We back bold ideas, act with an entrepreneurial mindset and continually evolve to meet the moment – while respecting the legacy that's brought us here. We believe in each other's potential and push boundaries together to create meaningful impact, both across the media landscape and in people's lives. We're proud of our heritage – but even more excited about making history. Hearst UK operates an in-office policy with flexible Fridays. Our office is based at House of Hearst, 30 Panton Street, St James's, London, SW1Y 4AJ , where teams collaborate in person and connect across brands and functions. Salary – £40,000–£45,000 - Salary is dependent on experience and will be assessed in line with the candidate's skills, knowledge and relevant expertise. The Role... This role is responsible for ensuring key digital brands are executing data-led and brand-appropriate strategies to meet traffic (UK page view) targets that deliver the right audiences for our commercial (display advertising) partners. You are directly responsible for the Discover and SEO success of a set of our brands and will help shape their Facebook content strategy to drive traffic to our websites. You will also also look for other traffic opportunities. You will build close relationships with the digital leads and Social Media Managers of our main brands. Main Duties... Devising, planning and implementing successful content and distribution strategies for your brands, ensuring we hit our monthly UK PV targets. Ensuring that all content calendars are grounded in data, clear as to why we’re recommending things, and will have the maximum expected impact on traffic. Make sure that we plan for known future events. Being vocal in daily content planning meetings, ensuring we’re doing the highest-traffic stories, and that headlines and publishing plans (EG timings, syndications etc) are optimised. Say “no” to ideas that won’t work. Shaping each brand’s Facebook content strategy with the Social Media Managers, so posting choices are grounded in data and drive measurable referral traffic to our sites. Owning each brand’s Google Discover performance: spotting trending topics and audience interests early, analysing what drives Discover visibility and clicks (topic, headline, timing), and turning that into regular reporting and clear recommendations for editorial teams. Work directly in the CMS to optimise content but train editorial people to get the basics right first time without needing your input. Leading the rollout of a key audience tool across the business (such as Marfeel, Similarweb or Parse.ly), and acting as its go-to expert: training teams, answering questions, and making sure it’s used to drive better editorial decisions. Lead ad hoc audience content projects to support brands and the Audience Team. Proactively anticipate the brands’ content needs and provide strong solutions before requested. Ensure that reporting is accurate, timely, delivers actionable insights and is used. Proactively analyse brands’ performance and come up with actionable insights. Assist Head of Audience in cross-department projects. What We Are Looking For... Essential Proven hands on experience of SEO and wide knowledge of ranking factors Strong experience with Google Discover Strong experience with tools such as Trends, GA4 and GSC. Strong analytical skills: Using advanced spreadsheet functions, and the ability to turn the data into insights for a non-technical audience. A good understanding of what drives Facebook referral traffic, including post format, timing and link performance. Stakeholder relationships Excellent communication skills: verbal and written.
