About the role
Advance 3D Vision Research from Algorithms to Open Source Applications. In this position, you’ll research and develop algorithms for photogrammetry, camera calibration, registration, and 3D reconstruction from images and video. Current projects emphasize aerial and satellite imagery, with opportunities to adapt these capabilities to new challenges and data domains such as underwater imagery and synthetic aperture radar. Your work will contribute to open source applications and frameworks including TeleSculptor, KWIVER, and Danesfield. You’ll also explore how 3D vision can support broader computer vision problems such as object detection and tracking, change detection, super resolution, and video compression. Kitware partners with government R&D agencies, branches of the U.S. military, members of the Intelligence Community, and commercial organizations ranging from startups to Fortune 500 companies. You’ll have opportunities to collaborate directly with customers, participate in field tests and demonstrations, publish novel work, and apply state-of-the-art artificial intelligence approaches to real-world national security challenges.
